United Kingdom
The system in the UK has an equal system. The UK has a single-payer system under The National Health Service, "NHS". The citizens' tax supports the NHS, covering everyone in England regardless of gender, race, and income. The NHS covers most of the medical bills, so no one has to worry about the cost to go to the hospital, and all people can get excellent care. So few people complain about high taxes. The NHS spends more than half o
f the cost at least, which is conducive to a long life expectancy, 82.3 years for males and 85.8 years for females (Julian Buxton,2021, September 23, "National life tables-life expectancy in the UK). Moreover, the rate of chronic disease is much less than in the US.
The NHS is working very well during the pandemic. As soon as WHO had decreased the public health emergency, the NHS called on citizens to stay home, protecting citizens and the NHS.
The UK built the "National Institute For Health And Care Excellence", "NICE" to cope with the pandemic and provide advanced care. NICE releases how to use money, which is from citizens' taxes. Th
ey understand the benefit of this system and values, and the most important thing is that citizens trust the public health care system. NICE took care of people who have chronic diseases.
United Kingdom VS United State
The pharmaceutical company, a significant lobbyist in government, has extreme power in the US. It sells insurance for a high price for their benefit and revenue. If the country changes to a single-payer system, some significant stakeholders in the current US, such as pharmaceutical companies, might experience losses. Thus the single-payer system is unfeasible in the US, unlike the UK.
